Read-only checks. No messages are sent and no client data is changed.

One workspace at a time. Existing contacts, consent, messages and campaigns stay where they are. New messages route to the destination. Stop scheduled work first; destination automatic answers must be off.
To move it back: refresh ownership, choose the original workspace as destination, and confirm a new transfer. The same safety checks apply.
